Photography gives me a sense of creative purpose and independence. It gets me out and about, focused, obsessed, interested, inquisitive, even adventurous!!
I have been going to various digtal photography courses over last few years, where I've learnt new camera techniques and Photoshop skills, improving my confidence and experience considerably.
Photography is my way of reclaiming my personal space and independence, after a long career in nursing and bringing up and supporting a creative family!
I'm particularly interested in night and street photography and like experimenting with long exposures to create ghost-like images of where people have been; as if their 'auric imprint' had been left behind.
In 2011, I won ‘The Photomonth Assignment’ prize, which was run as part of the London Street Photography Festival, with a series of long exposure photos of the Greenwich foot tunnel under the Thames.
I'm always yearning for the next opportunity to capture something different. I attend workshops, go on photowalks and travel whenever I can manage it, Australia, Kenya, India, Greece, and lots of European cities – documenting the unusual and the unexpected!
